Date Night Deets!

let's go to...

I have been keeping a list of places to try in the city since I first moved to Chicago back in 2011, and it just keeps getting longer because even as I go to places on the list, another new one pops up!

So anyways, SPOTS TO TRY:

  • Table Donkey Stick (Logan Square): Okay this sounds so weird and I questioned it too, but my friend Megan introduced me to this gem and now I can’t say enough about it!  The food is awesome, especially these little fry/hash brown things that I devoured, and they have a major wine list, with a Sommelier in house.  There is an amazing little patio in the back that is quiet and super romantic – this Logan Square find is a great date night spot, and little known secret is their Tuesday wine deal – they bring in a different grower every week and offer glasses at cost.  AKA it turns into a party and you drink great grapes while you’re there.
  • Frontier (Wicker Park): OK so I haven't been here but...they have an Oyster Happy Hour.  And we are getting back to months with R's in them so, that's all.
  • Bar Takito/Takito Kitchen (West Loop/Wicker): These places are both owned by the same person/group, but they have totally different vibes.  Bar Takito in West Loop is a little swankier and Takito Kitchen in Wicker is more laid back, but they both have the same basic principles.  Fresh, home made food and drinks.  For example, their whole menu is gluten free, and their tortillas are made AS you order them, and made out of not just corn (and especially not flour) but also crazy things like hibiscus flower!  (Its actually delicious).  They also fresh make the puree for their margaritas and the pineapple one at Kitchen is amazing, while the cucumber one at Bar steals the show for me.  Either way, they are both awesome and definitely reasonably priced.
  • Ella Elli (Southport Corridor): This place is high on my list, especially since my sister and bro-in-law went there for one of their first nights out since having their baby!  The Corridor is always fun to walk and shop around in so when they opened this place my sister was so excited to try - especially since its a part of 4 Star (Crosby's Kitchen, DOC Wine Bar, Dunlay's, Smoke Daddy, etc), and features "global cuisine" in a chic and modern setting.

Outfit deets below:

I love Lovers + Friends, and Revolve always has a ton of their stuff, so whenever it goes on sale its go time.  This dress is so cute since it wraps and has adjustable straps, so you can wear it however you'd like.  I wore black OTK Stewies with it, which are super comfortable and an absolute staple in my closet all fall and winter, plus a Tory bucket bag.
