2020 Wellness Ideas for Anyone!
This week on instagram I shared 5 ideas for wellness in the new year…
I’d like to go into depth a little more on each of them, and also share a couple other resources I have been exposed to in the hopes that they help YOU live your happiest, best life.
Reflecting on the good things by journaling what you are grateful for. I purchased a Gratitude Journal so that I can keep perspective. I was especially happy to purchase it from The Shop Forward, since they donate profits to great charities and organizations, and this one specifically benefits education in Haiti. This journal is not only super cute, but as their website states; “Studies show that expressing what you're thankful for leads to advantages like better sleep, improved self esteem, reduced stress, a happier life, and more. Who wouldn't want that?!”
2. Taking your vitamins. Seems simple, right? But how many of us buy them with all these great intentions of the benefits you will enjoy when taking them and then after a week or two, totally forget to do it every day? Well no more, because Binto makes it so easy, with pre-packaged and personalized vitamins for each day, just for ME. You take a survey on their site and they come up with a combination of what you should take and then voila - they’re on your doorstep! They can come up with specialized plans and focus on fertility too, so any ladies out there trying to get ready for a family - this is the plan for you! If you’re interested in trying them for yourself, use this link for $10 off your first month, woo!
3. Skincare. You can read my post from last year about all my favorite products and serums etc, but I recently got the Nuface, and I am blown away by it! My forehead lines have really decreased, and its actually kindof fun to do! I use the device 3x a week and it truly is like a workout for your face. A great preventative measure that also has immediate results.
4. Clean eating. Same with the above, if you follow me on instagram, you will know all about my love for my grocery delivery subscription, Hungry Root. They send an assortment of fresh veggies, and “carb alternatives” like lentil pasta, zucchini noodles, etc, and some AMAZING desserts, like chick pea cookie dough… its insanely good, and makes weekday meals easy to be healthy. The veggies are all pre cut and washed and you can just throw them in the oven or on the stove, aka - Mom Approved. If you want to try it, click this link for $15 off your first delivery! I made the pizza below with a whole wheat flatbread, their natural tomato sauce and chicken sausage - so good!
5. Faster Way to Fat Loss. I’m not making this up, I have never actually been able to lose weight when I tried to do it. Truthfully, I lost all of my baby weight due to breastfeeding (it burns like 600 calories a day!), but after I stopped nursing, I gained a lot back. So this fall I committed (and its a financial and mental commitment) to the Faster Way. It involves Intermittent Fasting, Carb Cycling and Macro Counting, none of which I had ever done before. It includes workouts, a community of accountability and it costs $200. This all seemed like too much and I was very hesitant to try it, but I am so glad I did. I lost weight, felt great and learned a lot about my body. Intermittent Fasting is something that I still practice because it truly makes me feel good, eat less and increases energy levels - I love it! And hey, I dont do it EVERY DAY.. like c’mon, it was Christmas and my mom made casserole so I wasnt skipping breakfast! And even though you’re supposed to stop in-taking calories at the end of your eating window, sometimes a girl needs a glass of wine, so hey I’m not perfect. But overall I truly FEEL BETTER about how I look. Regardless of the actual pounds, I feel more confident in my clothes, and to me - that is worth the time and money and discipline it takes. If you are nursing, there are modifications in the program you can do.
Read about the program and sign up for the next round (6 weeks long) starting on February 10th!!
