Get Involved - Black Lives Matter

If you are looking to help right now, join the club! Other than constantly educating yourself and others, Here are some resources that have ways to help your local community (I’m focused on Chicago since that’s local for me)

  • One Good Deed Chicago

    • This website has tons of different organizations that you can be a part of to impact others in your community

  • Donate to help Small Business affected by looting

  • My Block, My Hood, My City

    • This organization provides new opportunities and experiences for youth in Chicago that are underprivileged for any number of reasons.

    • Buy some gear to support them

    • Sign Up to volunteer with them at events

  • Support Black Owned Small Business Brands on Etsy!

  • Buy from The Shop Forward, a small business that is donating profits from The Ally Fund collection to great charities like these: “These are a few of the organizations we have either already donated to, or will be donating to: The Conscious KidBe The BridgeGeorge Floyd Memorial Fund, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and The Loveland Foundation. We have learned, as Angela Davis said, "it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist." We will continue to listen, learn, and stand up against systemic racism. We need to be the change.” - TSF The Ally Fund

  • Walk around your neighborhood and just offer help! As you can see in the pictures above, we found a small “Neighborhood Food Pantry” and Quinn got to donate some canned goods to it for our neighbors in need for any reason. You can also post to local Facebook groups or the Nextdoor App that you are able to help, you never know what your neighbor might be going through.
