Beauty & Skin Favorites of 2020
After a year at home, we all had A LOT of time for self care, right?! I focused on skincare and here are the products that I think made the biggest difference in my skin!
Devices:
Dermaflash - this derma-planing device isnt new to me, its been one of my favorites for a while… about every other week I will use this to deeply exfoliate and shave off peach fuzz. It helps with product absorption and makes makeup apply better as well.
Nuface - I’ve talked about this before but I truly think that it decreases fine lines, only down side is you have to use it daily to see the results, so it takes time! I tend to use when I’m doing a big skincare day, or days that I have events/photos, etc.
Eye Cream: Biossance Squalene + Marine Algae Eye Cream - started using this while pregnant because it is safe, but it also really works and feels great!
Cleanser:
La Mer Foaming Cleanser - I can’t say enough good things about this cleanser, it smells great, foams up nicely and your face just FEELS cleaner after using it. Its also pregnancy and nursing safe so for people in the same “season” of life as me - its fantastic.
Anti-Aging:
Skinceuticals CE Ferulic - one of the beauty world’s most praised products. (Don’t be turned off by the smel!). It improves the appearance of fine lines and makes skin look brighter too!!
Beauty Counter Vitamin C - Vitamin C promotes collagen production so is great for prevention and restoration, but the CE Ferulic is very expensive… I use this interchangeably with the above, so each one every other day. Its a more budget friendly Vitamin C serum and smells much better :)
Moisturizer:
Daytime: Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream - I have dry skin, especially in the winter, and I LOVE this daytime moisturizer. It is light but still super moisturizing.
Night:
La Mer The Treatment Lotion - I use this after toning to super charge my hydration - feels great and leaves skin dewy.. its a great base for your night time routine
Beauty Counter - This super moisturizing cream creates a barrier so that you dont lose moisture overnight.
Neck Cream: Strivectin Neck Cream - check the reviews, this stuff is great… you dont need to use a lot, and its so important to take care of this delicate skin! I use it twice a day.
Self Tanner:
Body: Hands down, my favorite - No. 32 Lux Unfiltered, by Sivan Ayla. Easy to apply (you can use every day), smells great and beautiful color. Unless I need to look really dark, really fast, I don’t see myself ever switching from this one. Just wish the price point was a little lower!
Face: Unlike the above review, I really don’t like the face tanner by Lux Unfiltered. It really did NOTHING to change the color of my skin, and I am pretty sure it made me break out. I went back to my ultimate favorite mist by St Tropez (sprays on - but you shouldn’t use other products at the same time so that it can really work on clean skin), or if I need to moisturize, I will add a couple drops of Isle of Paradise Medium, and its a more subtle glow.
Makeup
Blush - this cream stick can be used on cheeks and lips and is by far my most favorite blush. It is easy to apply, looks natural, and stays on all day!
