Winter Skin Care!
Oh the weather outside is weather…
(Forgetting Sarah Marshall reference, anyone?) Anyways… its cold and dry out and for most of us that really affects our skin. For those of us who are also pregnant or postpartum, we’ve also got hormones throwing a wrench in our skincare routine. So today I’m sharing just a few favorite things I use to stay clear, hydrated and healthy, pre and post baby!
For a clean slate: Start by derma planing! You can get this done at a spa during one of your favorite facials, or like me - do it right at home with a Dermaflash. Basically this teeny tiny sharp razor is the ultimate exfoliator, it clears off all of your dead skin cells and peach fuzz, so you are starting with the most pure canvas for all of your skin care. It also feels awesome and you won’t be able to stop touching your super soft face!
For staying clear: This Bestselling mask from Beaty Counter is great for drawing out impurities to have a fresh clean face in the winter and all year long. I love how it smells weirdly, and it doesn’t dry you out like a lot of other masks do.
For staying moisturized: I cannot rave about this product enough. I think I am on my 3rd bottle now which for me says a lot…because I am a product junkie and I love to try new ones to see if they will work better. I will continue to be so loyal to this face oil not only because of how much I love it, but I have also never received so many compliments from other people after they see me. I consistently get the “you are glowing” compliment after using this. It just takes a few drops at night and you feel moisturized, bright, voluminous and youthful.
For staying young & bright: This Overnight Resurfacing Peel is great for a quick refresh, and the long term benefits are to minimize pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Also, Beauty Counter products are safe during pregnancy and nursing.
For staying clean: I haven’t been particularly faithful to any one cleanser out there, but when I got pregnant I made sure to stop using anything with Retinol or other harsh chemicals that could be absorbed into my skin, and I stuck with Aveeno natural foaming face wash, which smells great, feels good and also gets rid of makeup without a ton of scrubbing. Plus its super affordable so you can use it generously.
Let me know if you have any other recommendations for great skin this season! Happy Holidays!!
